Emraan Hashmi worked out religiously to get a kick-ass body to essay the role of a guy who challenges an underworld don in Milan Luthria’s crime-thriller Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. Ajay Devgn plays underworld don Sultan Bhai in the film that is set in the 1960s. Hashmi plays Shoaib, the guy who challenges the authority of the don. Shoaib’s character is ambitious, fiery and relentless.
Emraan slogged it out for three months to attain a brand new, beefed-up physique. He underwent strength and endurance training.
The actor says, ‘I worked out for three months to look tough, beefed-up and lean at the same time. I also followed a strict diet. Getting six pack abs requires not only working out but also eating right. The physique of the character had to match his mental attitude and personality.’
